Would you buy a car without having taken it for a spin first? Sure, in theory the technical details tell you everything you need to know. But only after you have sat behind the wheel do you really know whether it’s the right car for you.

At proMX, we believe that the same applies to purchasing software. Why shouldn’t you put something you want to use every day through its paces first? Take the wheel of the software, so to speak.

For our app, proRM Fast Start, this has become easier than ever before. With the help of Microsoft, we have become the first independent software vendor to provide a so-called Test Drive for a Dynamics 365 app.

Satish Thomas, Group Program Manager for Microsoft AppSource, calls the proMX Test Drive “a marquee test drive in terms of how [proMX has] leveraged the framework, and added in-product walk-throughs for users coming through AppSource into [the] app.”

“proMX becomes the first ISV to enable an E2E integrated test drive experience for Dynamics 365,” adds AppSource Senior Program Manager Shefy Manayil Kareem. “[We thank proMX] for the close collaboration and for all the valuable feedback [the] team provided along the way while working closely with us to enable Test Drive.”

Marketplace for business apps

On AppSource, Microsoft and its partners offer business apps for Dynamics 365, Office 365, Power BI and cloud solutions. The credo: “Find the right app for your business needs”. To do so, you can refine your search by category (such as marketing, productivity or sales) and industry (e.g. professional services or manufacturing). proMX has been offering proRM Fast Start and other add-ons since the platform’s launch.

proRM Fast Start is a project and resource management app that integrates seamlessly into several Dynamics 365 apps. User-friendly and compact, it’s particularly suited for small and mid-sized companies. It enables the tracking of working time and expenses, the approval thereof, project planning and controlling as well as invoicing.

Users are able to install a 30-day trial version of proRM Fast Start into their Microsoft Dynamics 365 organization which gives them ample time to thoroughly test the app.

No download, no installation

But what if no apps are to be installed into your company’s Dynamics 365 organization, you don’t have the required administrator rights to integrate a solution, or your employer does not yet use Dynamics 365? This is where the Test Drive comes in. With it, the solution may be tested for several hours in a pre-configured test environment directly in your browser. No download or installation is required.

To provide users the most effective possible test period, proMX has implemented a Learning Path for proRM Fast Start, which guides them step by step through project planning, time and expense tracking, approval management and invoicing. Additionally, there are several short instructional videos for each component of the app.
