The year: 2000. The place: the beautiful city of Nuremberg. Our main characters: Georg Schmidt, Thomas Dorn, and Peter Linke. The plot: three colleagues rolling up their sleeves to build what started as a small software consulting company. This is a beginning that would soon set the direction for everything proMX would eventually become.

This year, proMX turns 25. This anniversary makes us think not only about how long we have been around, but also about how many companies and lives we managed to change along the way. Today, let us reflect on what we call “proMX effect”. Let’s see how what used to be a small software consulting company left its footprint in customers’ success, across industries, within Microsoft’s product ecosystem, and among the people connected to proMX.

Customers and industries

From day one, proMX put the customer’s interests above all. This approach secured our first major customer back in 2002: Bundesagentur für Arbeit, Germany’s Federal Employment Agency. This early milestone confirmed that the founders’ instincts and ambition were pointing in the right direction.

Today, proMX works with companies of all sizes and industries. We help energy providers modernize project and resource management, optimize operations for logistics firms, improve collaboration within professional services companies, and many more. Each project is treated as an opportunity to enhance the customer’s business in practice.

The proMX effect on customers is measured in these success stories: in more projects delivered on time, higher productivity, and organizations that are better equipped to thrive in the digital era.

From CRM to Project Operations

Our expertise has been continuously evolving with the technology landscape. In the early 2000s, the company began as a specialist in professional messaging solutions. However, the priorities drastically shifted in 2003, with the release of Microsoft’s first CRM platform.

As co-founder and CEO, Peter Linke recalls, “We turned the entire company inside out as we felt that wind of change. That decision completely transformed us from a company focused on professional Message Exchange into one that implements CRM and builds its own products.”

proMX reinvented itself back then. That is why we feel so confident as we help reinvent the productivity of our customers together. Over 25 years we grew from a local integrator into a Dynamics 365 powerhouse, adept in everything from CRM and ERP to modern cloud and AI innovations. This evolution of expertise means we implement Microsoft solutions end-to-end and extend them in creative ways at the same time.

Shaping Microsoft’s Project Operations story

Being a recognized Microsoft partner for more than two decades now, proMX didn’t just follow their roadmap. We helped draw it. As early collaborators on Dynamics 365 Project Service Automation (PSA), we worked closely with Microsoft’s product team, tested new features, and secured one of the first global PSA customers.

That partnership reached new heights in 2025 when Microsoft integrated our Time Tracking and Mobile Time Tracking solutions directly into Project Operations, which became a proud moment for the entire team.

“With this collaboration, even more Microsoft customers benefit from the years of work and experience that went into our time tracking innovations. We’re invested in Project Operations and will continue building for its future,” says Peter Linke.

Shaping our product identity

Becoming a true ISV has been a key part of proMX’s long-term strategy. We have been proudly specializing in add-ons that enhance your Dynamics 365 experience: Time Tracking, Project Portfolio Management, Absence Management, you name it. Each addressed real needs, often born directly from customer requests.

Until 2024, these solutions lived as separate tools. But as our expertise deepened and customer demands evolved, so did our vision. That is why we decided to rebrand and unify our solutions as proMX 365 Productivity Suite. This transformation reflects our shift from being an implementation partner to a product-driven company that continues to invest in building software that drives real business value.

From Nuremberg to the world

What began in one office in Nuremberg has grown into 14 locations across 7 countries, including Germany, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, India, Singapore, and Australia.

Remarkably, much of this expansion took place within the last five years! After establishing the headquarters in the US, India, and the UK, proMX opened a new Canadian office in 2023. We then extended our presence to Singapore in 2024 and just recently welcomed our first office in Australia in 2025. This rapid growth allowed us to expand our reach geographically, technically, and culturally.

Looking ahead

With over 350 successful Dynamics 365 implementations, more than 160 certified experts, and solutions now embedded inside Microsoft’s own products, proMX enters the next chapter with purpose and pride.
