After our first fully online event “Zeit für digitalen Wandel” in June this year, we decided to go for a second one: and so proMX Dynamics Week 2020 from 16 till 20 November happened. One week and five sessions packed with all the latest Dynamics 365 news and topics, among others:

  • We explained how to create a no-code chat bot with Microsoft Power Virtual Agents.
  • We took you on a tour through Project Operations.
  • We showed you how to host an event using Dynamics 365 Marketing and Microsoft Teams.

An exclusive introduction to our latest proMX add ons for project operations was part of the program, too.

Let us go back in time to one of our most exciting weeks in November!

Day 1: What’s new in the Microsoft World?

In our first Dynamics Week sessions, our participants took a closer look at Microsoft Power Virtual Agents. You can use the app for developing chat bots without having to learn a programming language, as Power Virtual Agents is part of the low-code Microsoft Power Platform.

Also part of our first session was an introduction to the latest Power Virtual Agents features released with the Wave 2 updates, an introduction to Language Understanding (LUIS) and an extensive demo.

Wave 2 had many interesting and useful updates for Project Operations and Finance in store, too, which we presented our participants in more detail. How to send out automated reminder emails was one part of our demo, among others.

Day 2: Microsoft Dynamics 365 Project Operations – an early adopter’s experience

Project-centric organizations face complex challenges: they need to be able to adapt to rapidly changing business models, processes are becoming increasingly automized and there is a strong link between successful projects and productivity.

How can companies use Project Operations to keep up with these demands? As well as answering that question, we took our participants deeper into the world of Project Operations in an extensive demo.

Day 3: Improving product lifecycle management with AutoCAD and Dynamics 365

So far, construction project managers have only been able to use Dynamics 365 Project Operations for planning engineer tasks. There was no way of linking planning results to tasks or requirements automatically, and storing drafts collectively in one place had not been possible, either.

Autodesk Forge, a cloud-based developer platform, and Dynamics 365 are the answers to these challenges. In day three’s session, our participants learnt all about the platform and its capabilities by taking a look at different real-life scenarios.

Day 4: Exclusive introduction to proMX’s latest apps – new industry solution and add-ons

Thursday was all about us!: We exclusively introduced you to our latest add-ons soon available for Project Operations: Holiday Management, Resource Planning and Travel Expenses – the names say it all.

Afterwards, the spotlight was on proMX 365 for Construction, our industry project management solution for the construction industry, and we showed you some of its specific capabilities.

Day 5: Artificial Intelligence in Microsoft Dynamics 365

Sending out field technicians to customers requires a high level of organizationlot of organization effort and an even higher level of coordination from the company’s service provider’s side. Dynamics 365 provides a variety of intelligent options, referred to as Artificial Intelligence (AI), for efficient resource planning: sending out technicians who are already working close to where the customer lives is located for example, or calculating an estimated travel time.

Participants had the opportunity to take a closer look at those different functionalities on our fifth and last day of Dynamics Week.

The last part of our session was all about event management in Dynamics 365 Marketing. In a tutorial, we showed them how to plan and create Microsoft Teams events using the marketing app, quickly and easily.

We would like to thank all participants and speakers for a successful week – and we are looking forward to seeing you at our next event!
